Pacman Animation Evaluation

Pac-man Evaluation

This are the different props we used, there are different colours because every time pac-man eats a skittle it changes colours and sizes.

For the final project we had to create our own stop motion animation. Patrycja and I decided to use Pac-man as our main character and then do a similar thing as the actual game but with skittles instead.
I think we worked really good together, our animation came out quite good, the lighting was decent, but because our camera didn't have the best quality it doesn't look as professional as we wished. I find our final animation smooth and well edited. The sound effects work well with the image, due to fixing it so it fits perfectly.

Whilst doing it we had a problem, our footage (more than 300 words) got deleted, so we had to do the whole thing again.
And then while editing we had issues as well, because the images were not in order it would just keep on jumping, so we had to do it all over again and then select image by image to put it in the right order, and then render the whole thing which took really long. But by the end of the day we had it ready and I believe it looks really nice and I'm happy with the result of it.

We had good feed back from it, some people said it was smooth and made sense, some others said that the lighting and the quality could've been better but still looks good.

If I would be able to do this animation again I would improve quite a few things, such as lighting, quality of the image and maybe find better music for it. But I think our editing made it quite better and as usual we handed in on time for the deadline.

Advert Evaluation

Advert evaluation

For the advertising task we chose to promote a skin care product called “Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush”.

Our advert is called Paper bag face because we wanted to relate the paper and the skin. The guy had a paper bag over his head throughout the whole advert, right until the end when you see him using the product.
I think our main idea was really good, because it wasn’t the typical skin care advert, but it was quite creative. It is different because of the way of telling the story, but at the end of it you realise it is similar to the other adverts due to the fact that it shows a before and after. Before: bad skin (paper bag on his face) and after: good skin (no paper bag on his face). Even if it came out quite good,we did not realize that it was going to be hard to produce our idea properly.
Besides all of this i think we had good shots such as mid shots, close ups, and long shots, our lighting was decent, but we still had to make it better with Final Cut Pro. The music we chose was quite good to set the mood, the different paces it has makes it interesting.
The way we edited the video made it be more interesting, speeding up and close ups.
I believe the way we could have improved it is by thinking different ways of showing what we wanted to exactly, but because of some issues we had we wasn’t able to do it as good as we wanted and I think this is why a few people told us that they don’t understand it really well or that it’s confusing, while filming it we missed parts that could have made it make more sense that it does and maybe the viewers could understand it better.
I think we could’ve improved quite a lot of things, such as film with more lighting or have more different shots to show the story properly to the viewers, and even use voice over for it to be understandable.
The props worked out really well, they were made by Sammy and it was the easiest thing to get.
Team wise we worked good together, Sammy and Malwina were the ones who filmed most of it and I was the editor. It worked out really good like that besides having some problems to set the filming dates but finally finished it on time and we are all happy with the final work.
